Born and raised in Michigan, Kevin “Moe” Moening learned early that anything worth building takes discipline, consistency and pride in the work.
From 1998 to 2002, he served in the United States Marine Corps and was stationed at Camp Pendleton, California. After leaving the Marines, Kevin continued that commitment to service through 12 years of California state public service before ultimately returning his focus to his Midwest roots and a new chapter built around food, hospitality and entrepreneurship.
Over the years, the nickname Moe became part of his identity. Today it sits at the center of a bigger vision: Moe’s Smash — a veteran-owned food brand built around hot, freshly smashed burgers, fries cooked in beef tallow, original flavor, disciplined execution and a polished customer experience.
Faith is central to the way Moe approaches both life and business. The goal is not simply to complete a transaction. It is to serve people well, build genuine relationships and make every guest feel that the experience was intentional from the first interaction to the last bite.
The foundation is simple: faith, discipline, hard work, hospitality, service, customer excellence and uncompromising quality.
Food is the product. The experience is the brand.
